Stay safe and be cautious and prudent in this current viral crisis. This thing will likely be around for a long time. Additionally, in this polluted world, more deadly viruses will be coming. Unfortunately, our government officials are superficially looking at things fragmentarily and are not seeing things holistically with a lot of insight. In the U.S., for instance, i feel that Trump is adding to the nightmare of this. I am basically an apolitical person, but what i see this non-compassionate, narcissistic man doing is horrifying. My friends in other countries are equally horrified with the current U.S. administration, and with good reason. It’s like a horror movie. He has a cult-following around him and, while people are dying, he talks about his ratings. He promotes and endorses racism and he is dismantling just about everything that President Obama did in the past… including (recently) the drastic weakening (i.e., ending) of an Obama-era fuel economy standard that made new cars more fuel-efficient and more environmentally friendly. This will increase pollution while the world wrestles with a respiratory virus pandemic (that Trump had called a hoax) and a climate crisis. (Is a deadly-polluted world really the legacy that you want to leave your kids?) Then there is the drastic cutting of Social Security and Medicare, putting kids in cages, being puppets for the fossil fuel industry, and the GOP’s diabolical suppression of voting in many states. This is an immoral society and we are allowing ourselves to be bamboozled by extremely immoral so-called leaders. Personally, if you subscribe to such nefarious stuff, i would prefer it if you unfollowed this blog and stayed away. Such nefarious behavior is a danger to mankind and the animal and plant kingdoms. Besides, subscribing to such drivel certainly nullifies any chance of ever being visited by that sacred, holistic energy; its order and vast intelligence does not visit the disorderly, the visionless.
I highly recommend watching Dr. John Campbell’s (daily) videos on the coronavirus. (One of his wonderful and very helpful videos that i especially like is provided below. He is from England, and one meter equals around 3.3 feet.) He is a top-notch medical expert (now retired). We all need to talk more about population limitation, healthy environmental measures, and living cooperatively. And please donate, as i did, to your local food bank (in these very difficult times).

First off, THANK YOU … I am now subscribed to Dr. Campbell’s posts. I made us some masks for grocery shopping (and getting the truck serviced) … totally in synch with possibility I could be a carrier even though not displaying symptoms. Can be confusing to choose which voice to listen to, and that choice needs a daily re-thinking. But Campbell strikes me as a sane and intelligent component as I live into this pandemic.

The beautiful and delicate eggs are a work of art from Mother Nature who is sad what is happening to Earth and her people. Everything you say is true – our state is a hot spot because our Governor was deemed unappreciative of the President and she had to beg for supplies to appease him. I had a 20-year friendship with a Republican friend whom, when I told her about the above incident, accused me of “disparaging *MY* president” and said she would “give me a chance to retract my statement.” I refused and she said “have a nice life” – there is no love lost. I can’t vote and thus have never talked politics but that incident and the many others annoy me and I’ve become more vocal.
The Coronavirus is scary – I stopped walking for a few days but decided I would be prudent and not use the camera near my face and use a mask, as I needed the escape from the news and everything else. So, I will listen to this video tomorrow as it is late (had a long/unexpected phonecall from a friend who found my unlisted landline phone number online – grrr). I am interested in what he says – guessing to mask-up given his aversion and description of the droplets. 🙂 Stay safe Tom. I certainly hope that more people agree with me than i might think (i.e., that these thoughts emanate as). But there is a good chance that he gets re-elected again; in that case my childhood premonition of a world severely polluted by mankind will come to pass even sooner.
You didn’t lose a friend. You lost a brainwashed, blind monster. It’s sad how so many, especially the uneducated, cling to Fox News and the likes of Sean Hannity (who has a high school diploma). What a joke… what a sick propaganda machine!
Trump will continue to down-play the virus and encourage people to get out and shop. It’s all about $ to him and people’s lives don’t count for much to him. (They continue to let children in schools get shot by insanely powerful guns, they cut Medicare and Medicaid and “let” people die, they crowd kids in cages, and they allow the fossil fuel industry to ruin the environment.) No compassion, no real intelligence.
Dr. Campbell has videos daily, and i usually watch them. Very informative! I’ll continue to get groceries via Walmart’s Grocery Pickup service; it’s easy to choose your groceries online (and mark those that you like best, with the “heart icon” for super easy subsequent shopping). They load them in the car for you and you don’t even have to get out of the car.

Hi Tom – I am disgusted too and I never voiced my opinion, since I’m Canadian and cannot vote. Yes, I’ve lived here since 1966 and on a green card – which if you knew what I had to go thru the last time to renew it in 2015 and if he is re-elected, it likely will be more difficult. I need to renew again before it expires in 2025. My friend said that to me and she was also angry because I lashed out that I lost money on my federal tax refund as my medical check that was always treated as a gratuity was now taxable income due to the new tax law – this made it seem like I had not correctly declared my 2019 anticipated income for Obamacare and I was made to pay $700.00 back. He no doubt will mess with Obamacare if re-elected, but that will not impact me too much as I turn 64 next week and by the time any changes take effect, I will be likely eligible for Medicare (hopefully and not that I want to wish my life away) unless he would push out Obamacare immediately and I don’t think that can happen. So I said to my friend (or former friend I guess you’d identify her as) that had he not instituted tax law changes, I would have been $700.00 richer (I do not make a large salary, having been penalized since I choose to work from home and only am working 6 hours a day). The additional income made me lose my home heating credit of around $150.00 at least, sometimes more if it’s a brutally cold Winter (which it was 2018-2019), so she made a crack that I had never paid taxes on the monthly medical check, therefor I was getting a gratuity all that time and blaming the president. I am not sorry that she took an attitude in the least and there is no love lost.
I am trying to stay grounded with walking and last weekend thought perhaps it was not smart as Michigan is so bad, but returned to it – I need it for my mental health and will stay masked up – I think we will go beyond the Spring for worries, even into Fall. I will continue with no photos at parks for now.
I have not had to go to the store as I bulk up on pantry items every Winter Tom … I still have at least a month’s worth of pantry items. I ordered a couple of things from Amazon like allergy meds –
I only had six weeks worth left and some Cod Liver Oil capsules so I did not have to go to the health food store. I had thought about doing Instacart –
you shop at Walmart’s all the time you said – you mentioned it before, so is this just available for Walmart shoppers? Or can you use a Visa card and then pick up out front? I’ve never been to our Walmart – it is a place which people are always getting mugged – no words sometimes about the state of affairs these days. I think Meijer has something similar and they are finally instituting a limit on groceries, as a friend of mine would appear on senior days (twice weekly) and nothing was there. You have every right to air your views about the current situation in the U.S., political or otherwise. Hell, most all of us are NOT really TRUE citizens here; the Native Americans are… and they were butchered with empty “rationalizations” that they “are savages.” The real savages were the ones that butchered them all and stuck them in reservations (i.e., Trump-like concentration camps). It is so easy for so-called humans to rationalize their immorality. Look around you!
You can pay with a credit card online (with Walmart, and it is very safe). You only get charged (automatically) once they put the stuff in your car. Another good option, for fresh veggies, to grow your own sprouts. Here is a good source, plus they have a certain section for seeds to order. I love the Easy Sprouter, but you could also use containers from home, though it makes it more difficult. I recommend Fennugreek and Crimson Clover sprouts especially. 🙂
