Covid-19 and the Future

This Covid-19 thing is affecting us all worldwide. We are all in this together. Clairvoyance, or whatever you wish to call it, tends to run in our family. My mother certainly had it, and i tend to have it. I’ve told my wife, for many years, that a terribly virulent virus or germ would be devastating to the human race. I had that “vision” when i was a kid and never forgot what it meant. I also, when i was a kid, saw that humans would pollute the world in very globally lethal ways. (Just a few months ago, one Thursday morning, i had a vision that i was precariously going into the side of a fast-moving Mack truck; the truck was coming from my right and going to the left… in the “vision”. I always go to grocery shop on Thursdays, so i bravely went to shop at our local Walmart, in spite of my vision. I was very cautious. I got groceries and was almost all the way home and thought, “Well that was an unusual false-alarm, thank goodness.” Then, about a mere half-mile from home, i came to a four-way stop. I came to a full stop, was about to proceed when a huge Mack truck came barreling through the intersection without stopping. I was glad that i hesitated at that stop. I was facing south; the truck was coming from the west going east… coming from the right of me and going to the left of me.)

Nature has a way of teaching us lessons. Right now the air across America is getting cleaner — so the scientists say — and the environment is getting healthier, from far less jets in the air and fewer cars on the road. Healthy environments usually produce healthy organisms; sick environments usually produce sick, diseased organisms.
Nature has a way of teaching us lessons. But we have to listen.

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped. I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy. 1. GORGEOUS image!
And thank you for the visionary perspective … there is value in whatever is happening (along with the fear and loss of income, etc. that seem to get most of the attention). Comforting to consider my isolation nurturing Mother Earth.

  2. Wow! I’m so glad you paused at the Stop street!
I love to see how clean everywhere is becoming since we stopped going out – and how Nature is returning to places that we have pushed it away from.

  3. Wow! I am so glad you had that vision – a warning that you heeded, thank goodness! I do believe in clairvoyance, having had similar experiences myself. It can be a bit of a two-edged sword, but is often very helpful, as you have attested to here.

I, too, hope we learn the important and crucial lesson that nature has sent humanity. Time will tell I guess. Although I try to be optimistic I am somewhat cynical as well – I hope we do not continue like business as usual, but I am afraid the powers that be have too deep a love affair with their dollars.

    • Exactly, Carol. $ plays an all too important role in all of this. I’m being factual, not merely cynical when i say that, after this Covid-19 thing, things will tend to go back to normal. Pollution, overpopulation, and more very virulent diseases will take place. People tend to (superficially) imitate… and do not really profoundly learn and perceive.

  4. Beautiful photo, Tom. I suspect few people (especially in the ruling class) will learn anything at all from this pandemic. For now, wild things have more space to roam. If the food systems fail, though, the poaching will begin. That is something that worries me a bit. Stay safe.

  5. Eilene, of course the ruling class (especially) won’t learn from this. They’ll continue to suppress votes, bamboozle the public, support fossil fuel and big pharma, and continue being obsessed with making more $. Bigger, more virulent, pandemics will follow and nature will really then get her revenge. You can only abuse the whole for so long before very serious repercussions follow.
Take care, stay safe, and be very careful, Eilene.

  6. I honestly believe that some very few people have special gifts and you are one of them Tom. It is good that you are able to use your gift to your advantage.

As we face this delima may we all heal together as one and listen to what the universe is saying..

    Keep safe tom

  7. Tom – You went from snowflakes to ‘shrooms in no time at all, just like this horrible virus has been growing in leaps and bounds, encroaching more and more. Where we have gone in the course of a month is downright scary, just like your premonition of the Mack truck and this pandemic. I live in a city that is only 5 miles and we have 100 cases and 5 deaths – that does not give me comfort. I have nowhere I need to go as I stocked up on pantry items for Winter, but I am debating about stopping the walks for a while. I “masked-up” this morning, but you get conflicting views: go out and enjoy fresh air, but keep your distance … then you hear do not step outside except for essential chores. At least Earth Day 2020 will sport an environment to rival that of the first event in 1970.

  8. Until they come out with a vaccine for this damn thing, i think i’ll be wearing masks and gloves whenever i go grocery shopping. And i’ll continue wiping up my groceries with paper towels soaked in a solution of 9 parts water to 1 part bleach. Don’t wear a mask out of doors; it won’t do a bit of good and will just put time on your mask. In stores is another story. (By the way, they sell mask inserts that extend the life of each mask. They are sold in lots of 100.)
So sad that people in power (i.e., Trump) are ending the limitations on fossil fuel emissions. More pollution = more disease and germs for sure. You couldn’t make this shit up.
Stay safe and continue to love nature.

  9. For me it is such a relief to read about clairvoyance or “whatever you call it” – some of us DO have these abilities and they are often a liability in this culture… Dreamers visionaries and mystics are often ridiculed – I surely was – in fact I ended up believing I was crazy as an adolescent – I love your photographs Tom.

    • Thanks about the photographs, Sara. Oftentimes it’s best not to share too many out of the ordinary things with people. Probably they were not meant to be shared. People of a linear nature do not cope well with non-linear phenomena. It’s like taking a fish to the desert. There is a whole lot that i haven’t exposed (and don’t intend to expose).
Take care, Sara, and stay safe.

      • I share a fraction – and that freaks people out – maybe even that’s too much – but gosh this taboo needs to be broken – so there’s the rub…I just love your comment – I want to remember it – taking a fish to the desert – oh just perfect. Many blessings – have just made trip from NM to Maine…oh the desert is too stark for me – too much stone and sky…I checked my vernal pools that are just appearing…I LOVE this time of year and find joy in every day…. staying safe is relative – some of us at high risk can only hope… Nature sees the big picture not ours – although sometimes she intervenes… Life is such a mystery.

  10. Good to see you are still blogging Tom, and it looks like you’ve changed your site since I last visited. It’s very smart! I’ve had about a two year break. Locked down here in France with oodles of time I decided to dust off my blogs! Glad you’re keeping well in these unsettling times.
    And love the mushrooms!
