Looking beyond the darkness … Photo by Thomas Peace c. 2019

9/11 was an extraordinarily tragic thing.   Far worse than 9/11 is losing the ecological balance of the earth.  The earth is currently collapsing, nature-wise, because of our shortsightedness.  Heartless political forces, so-called big business, and indifferent so-called humans are zealously steering many of us in the wrong direction.  We all need to do much more.  A collapsing earth is a most terrible thing.   Stay local, use alternative energy, recycle, and vote green.

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped. I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy. Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...

    • Thank you, Jazz. 🙂 We don’t need symbols, as we did in the past, which didn’t do any good. We need awareness, care, and real heart. And, Jazz, it is not a bee. It is a Hover Fly. Don’t feel bad, it’s a common mistake that most people make.
Einstein is purported to have said that once the bees vanish, people will be gone 4 years later.

  1. Those that ignore all of the warning signs and choose not to believe that Global Warming is real are either too stupid, too selfish or just plain do not care as it will not happen sufficiently in their lifetime to cause them any discomfort. To them immense wealth is more important even if it means that their future offspring will suffer along with the rest of the wildlife and eventually, humanity.

    • Yes, Francis, exactly. There are too many people out there who want to keep their eyes closed (at the expense of all life). Scientists are predicting that, in the next few decades, breathing will be extremely difficult due to increased carbon dioxide and pollution levels. (It’s already starting to happen in some large China and U.S. cities.)
