Well, love and compassion are a bit different. Can one really “know” or recognize that one is truly loving others? Not really. The beloved may just be an obsession or a fixation; it’s easy to get deceived in this and we must be careful. 🙂
I love chocolate, by the way! 🙂
The English language leaves a lot to be desired when speaking of “love”. I will agree with you that compassion (shared-suffering) is easier to “know” than “love” because do we really mean: agape, eros, phileo, or storge just to use the Greek words. I know that I love a beloved when I am willing to lay down my life to save that beloved. I certainly wouldn’t eat someone or something that I love. 🙂
I love your profound wisdom, Tom. I love nature too and the butterfly photo is lovely.
So glad that you are appreciative of the combination! 🙂
Words I would say, but said better.
Means a lot, Ken! 🙂
I’m really surprised that this line was not included:
There’s no lover without the beloved.

Yes, well, like one suggested, it’s a complicated thing. A lot of people laid down their life for their country, and they were Nazis.

However, i understand where you are coming from with this. 🙂
A philosophy for harmonious living. How do we get people to listen though?
Thank you much, Peter! 🙂 Ah, you can lead a horse to water but…
And it seems with all the technology, people are becoming more isolated from each other, as well as from nature.
WOW on the image!
Yes, heads down and thumbs scrambling for conveying written codes. Sad!
Very.
Gorgeous shot!
Thanks very much, Basil! 🙂
Nice thoughtful words, goods day 🌹
Thanks, Mehreen! I hope that they have some significant meaning for you! 🙂
Very nice Tom!
Thank you, Belinda! 🙂 Much too windy today!
Once heard from an eight-year-old: “Don’t pull on that vine! You’ll unravel the world!”
Might be true! Te-he 🙂
Beautiful post
Much appreciated, Leyla! 🙂
😊
🙂
Well some people would beg to differ with what you say … I do not, however!
Really don’t mind if they sit this one out! 🙂
This should be mandatory for those who legislate or take power, if only more would heed this truth!
That will never happen, Paul. Anyone truly with this understanding, for one thing, wouldn’t want to be in any such so-called power.
Depressingly so 😦
