Right Now You are Moving and Not Moving

“I do not know which to prefer,
The beauty of inflections
Or the beauty of innuendos
The blackbird whistling
Or just after.”

freely move may be

where consciousness really isn’t going anywhere

(other than where it’s always been).

most of us feel that we can freely think.

however,when thinking takes place,

consciousness is where it’s always been,

in the same, exact area,in the same basic, reacting form.

for those of us who jump,

consciousness itself does not really rise and fall;

it remains where it always was,

in the exact,same spot(which,by

the way, isn’t really an actual spot).

while reading through this poem,

one may feel like one is progressing through it,

but it may be that the consciousness involved with

reading isn’t really going anywhere(other than

where it’s always been).

the river is moving, yet the river remains where

it always was.

you are asking where you are going to,

and i am asking where you

came from;ah,we ask the same question.

you can leave the place that you are currently

in and go into a different area, but your

consciousness remains where it always was.

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped. I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy. Well, it was very pretty Tom. Gee, I only get violets, clover and dandelions in my lawn. 🙂 At one time, I used to dig out every last dandelion, but it is no use trying to tame them because no one else deals with their dandelions, so the seeds spread like wildfire. We all ought to stop and take a closer look at everything … speaking at looking at things, early tomorrow at 4:45 a.m. is a blue moon. It is supposed to be clear here, so good viewing conditions are predicted. Lately, we miss most “sky events” as it is rainy or cloudy.

I have never seen a flower such as that. Stunning. It’s all over my head today. You will though, hear me lament often that I’m not ever moving again. I realize it’s not the same but had to say it anyway.

I don’t mind that my body is stiffening up as long as my mind stays open and active. It is a nuisance though. You can still see beauty in microscopic form and that’s a huge win. 🙂

Yes, Paul, i am glad that i subscribed. And, as you said, dogs live in the now. And they — many of them at least — also live beyond strict time parameters. They can see way before someone is coming home (way before they actually get home). Many dogs have a kind of universal, intrinsic, organic intelligence.

Dogs are so precious. When I met Jean in 2007 she had twenty-three dogs, all rescues. We met in Mexico and I went out to live with her in 2008, with my German Shepherd, Pharaoh. We were married in 2010 in Payson, AZ. Subsequently I discovered we were both born in North London. It can be a small world at times!
