My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped.
I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy.

Wow, to take this photo with a macro lens, you must have been very close to this froggy fellow and he/she was content to stay there. This is a great photo Tom. As to now, this little guy is likely buried under the silt until a Spring warm-up (whenever that might be … surely not next week which temps will likely zap those ticks we’ve had to contend with so much of late).
Thank you, Linda! 😊 These frogs, as you well realize, are elusive buggers. They are on the dinner plate for a whole lot of animals, so they are very apprehensive about approachers.
Think it would be great if this terrible, freezing weather would zap the ticks. I don’t like being what they like to nibble on… with all their diseases and creepiness!
Yes, these frogs with the big eyes, need to have eyes like our mothers did … at the back of their head. You recall that moms knew everything that was going on, but I digress.
I hope some good will come from this brutally cold weather we’ve had and what’s about to descend on us.
Well, at least it doesn’t snow much (usually) when it is bitter cold outdoors. I don’t know how the birds — especially the little birds — do it?
I know Tom. I feel for the birds, which, as I understand it, can fluff their feathers to add a layer of protection, though I sure don’t know how. We had pet birds for many years and those feathers don’t look to be much protection. Those were small birds (canaries, parakeets) – maybe your parrots have better protection? Stay warm in this upcoming weather. The snow is gone, melted, roads are dry, but more snow on the way.
