Psychologically, the one who perceives something is not (to a large extent) separate from the perception; so, a man or a woman who is discussing something with someone who is standing in a bed of flowers is — in a very peculiar but real way — conversing with the flowers.
(A favorite excerpt from a very special movie):
.
I could while away the hours Conferrin’ with the flowers Consultin’ with the rain And my head I’d be scratchin’ While my thoughts were busy hatchin’ If I only had a brain
I’d unravel any riddle For any individ’le In trouble or in pain…
Conferrin’ with the Flowers … Photo by Thomas Peace c. 2022
My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped.
I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy.

Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...
Our generation is so lost we even officially define ourselves separate from nature. This from the dictionary; Nature—English; the phenomena of the physical world collectively, including plants, animals, the landscape, and other features and products of the earth, as opposed to humans or human creations.
Awwww, oh the memories from The Wizard of Oz! Indeed, the one who perceives something is not separate from the perception. “If only I had a brain.” That poor ole scarecrow’s perception of having a brain was what he perceived indeed. Great analogy Tom!!! 👏🏼💖😍
Conferring with the flowers is much more fruitful and enlightening than that with our own human species. They listen better and can impart so much wisdom if we can only be still enough to listen.
Yes, wishforwater, if our own species is sagacious enough to see that it is not something apart from the flowers, then real communion (i.e., wise togetherness) may take place. 😉
Right you are. We are intimately a part of everthing else, yet we have learned to regard ourselves as separate, and therefore alienated, from everything outside our skins. I think that the more we “live” in our abstractions, the less we are fully alive.
Yes, indeed, pstachowski, (my real last name is Pietruszka), living and remaining in abstractions is not real “living”; it is more like a glorified form of death. The one here says, “No thanks, regarding existing in that form of unaliveness.” 😉

Yes, Jim, the Native Americans had it right, whom we called savages; then we butchered them. 🙄
GORGEOUS – both the image and the poetic wisdom!
Thanks much, Jazz… means a lot! 😁
Wonderful, lovely poem and photo!
Much appreciated, Nicole! Keep shootin’! 😀
Beautiful! I love everything about it.
Thank you very much, Gigi! (And i really appreciated your wise support in recent comments to some of the crazies out there who were writing to me!) 😁

Kym, that scarecrow was a lot smarter than he thought! I love that movie! 😘😎🤩
I know Tom. There is always a great take away from that movie. Many poignant lessons so many need to be reminded of today! 🤗💖🌞✨🥰
Yes, Kym, exactly! 😀😍

Yes, C.I., I love that movie too! A lot of wisdom is in that excellent story! 😉

Oh! So so beautiful. Also I find this excerpt very powerful.
So glad, Kajal, that it had some deep meaning for you! 😁

Lovely flowers and lyrics from a favorite childhood movie, Tom. My mom auditioned for the part of Dorothy in the movie. 🎥
Your mom auditioned for the part of Dorothy, Siobhan! That is way cool! 😁
Yes, she did. One of many trying out for the part. 🙂
Now I have an earworm for the Scarecrow singing that song. The bluebells up close are fabulous Tom.
Thanks, Linda! It’s a wonderful song and movie! 😉
