My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped.
I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy.

Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...
Whenever consciousness looks at something, the image or pattern of that something is what the mind becomes”
Doesn’t that mind include a body? We do live our lives through bodies don’t we?
If we see consciousness as something that occurs all the way down then awareness is all around us – in every bug or tree – but perhaps not so well connected in humans because we have split mind from body.
I do know that if I am totally engaged with something – yesterday it was a poplar stick that looked like it had been gnawed on by teeny beavers (!) – I do become it – I lose all sense of separateness – a gift – but then Must return to the self that is walking in the woods…
I see many images that are examples of underlying patterns – maybe all are – we live in a world of mystery.
Great Post and I love that bug and what if the universe(s) combined edges are that of awareness?
Everything we perceive we see in our heads, and inside our heads we’re seeing what we’re inside of. Trying to separate ourselves from the feedback loop has proven difficult. It’s all one thing.
Yes, Jim, it’s all one thing. 😊 But we have to be careful because some of it is rather illusory, imagined, and delusory… that’s when real separation, hatred, and conflict ensues.
Thank you. It is the first step. The world is not demarcated into bits and pieces—that is a social construct. I disagree that only some of it is illusory. You’re just being nice!
Yes, you are right, Sara, such a mind includes a body and the body is part of the mind. 😊 And yes, unfortunately, many humans have split mind from body (and separated so many other things).
And i would suggest not caring as much about what is self and what is not-self. Just be the observing. 😁
Great thoughts/principles … cannot help but see that ladybug as dangling at the end of the last thought wondering “where do I go next?” [For my part, I went back to the top and read ’em all a second time, “seconding” each.]
Much appreciated, Jazz! 😃 Oftentimes i re-read my own stuff (days later), and (days later) one actually gets something more out of it. So the future can benefit from the past (as it becomes the past).
Talk about living on the edge – never good for humans or for pretty ladybirds either. This an amazing close-up Tom – look at those dots. Not all humans can connect the dots – you can.
We, Linda, can only fully connect the dots when we go beyond the dots (i.e., beyond all of the dark, small, fragmentary, separated parts that they filled us with). 😁
Well said! Each and all.
We hope so, Lou! Thank you! 😊
Wow Tom so many ideas to respond to! ”

yep! that’s how I experience it.

Excellent point about self not self – our educational system makes such a big deal out of individuality and look at where we are now – what a mess.
Yes, Jim, those of us who were educated have to unlearn (and unwind) ourselves beyond so much of the crap that was poured into our naive heads. 😣
I love the image Tom, and that caption is just perfect!
Thank you much, Peter! 😊

Great capture of the lady bug at the end of the branch!! You have to be paying close attention to get that one. I like your philosophy. Wax on.
Beauty at its best👌
