A WOW photo – have never encountered one of those mushrooms! Do they grow independently or in clusters? Coloring would keep them inconspicuous to untrained eyes. One more reason to look where one’s feet are about to land!
Your verse here is delightful.
From what one has seen, they grow relatively independently. If one is found, others may or may not be in the area but not very close by. They are very hard to spot among all the remnant Oak leaves left over from last fall and winter. I have more pics of other ones that i will post at a later time.
Thanks very much, Jazz! ๐
I like the structure of your poem as much as I like the structure of the mushroom — another new one for me.
Very kind words from you, Linda! Much appreciated! ๐
Beautiful. Never seen a mushroom like that.
Thank you much, ACB! They blend in well, so many people don’t notice them. ๐
That is an amazing mushroom – and poem too. ๐
Thank you, Scifi! ๐ Watched a show on poisonous snakes in South Africa (Snake City) yesterday. My goodness, are there that many around?! ๐ฎ
You’re welcome. ๐
I’ve just sent you a long reply on SA snakes in a previous comment. ๐
Love and poetry- Iโll vouch for that!
Thank you, and yes indeed! ๐
I agree with scifihammy, Thomas. Have a nice day, regards Mitza
Thank you much, Mitza! I’m going to go out again with the camera soon. We still are bone-dry here. Hoping your day is wonderful too! ๐
In the words of a wise philosopher, “All you need is love.”
Yes, SB, just yesterday one was reflecting on some wise words by Lennon. He left way too soon.

A nice pairing of poetry and a mushroom. I used a mushroom in today’s blog post as well.
Thank you, Linda! ๐ We don’t have many mushrooms this spring at all. Far too dry (and unnatural for spring)!
This Spring is something else – today 91 degrees and tomorrow 95 degrees, likely breaking records both days. Buggy and muggy as well.
Lovely poem. That mushroom is just so beautiful. I love the way it looks.
Fascinating mushroom, love the detail, Tom!
