Fast not last
and ditty dance
circulated bound
Not slow or first
or spongy thirst
or rivulet round
Not here just there
not underwear
resplendent like a clown
Just slippery soggy
not so groggy
a leaping up and down
Hop and jump
splash cur-plunk
a wishy-washy sound
Splash! š
cur-plunk! š
Look at that beauty!!!
Yes, Roda, Leopard frogs are one of my favorites. Each pattern is unique! š
Superb! Very entertaining.
Many thanks, Jim! š
Cute, animated poem Tom! š Is this another one of your resident critters? ā¤
Thank you, Kym! Yes, lives on the river that we live on. He was on the other side of the river in a spot where a lot of them hang out but where one has to be careful walking… as a fair amount of poison ivy grows there! š
When I’m around the ponds, the frogs always surprise me. I rarely see them before I hear that “ker-splash!” — and then laugh.
Yes, they can be very elusive for the most part! š They are tough cookies to get close to! Can’t blame them; a lot of critters like to eat them, including raccoons and coyotes.
Great shots…looking forward to spring peepers here.
Yes, Michael! I’m hoping for some nice tree frogs this spring! Tree frogs are getting less common lately (i.e., the last few years), i feel.
Your words paint their actions so well. Nice one!
Much appreciated, Sandy! š You are very great at it too! š
Thanks, Tom. I appreciate that!
Aw lovely photo and I think your poem needs to be read aloud! š
Those frogs are tough to get close to, Scifi! They are on so many critters’ menu that they don’t stick around for prying eyes! š
I can believe it! š
wonderful how you play with words that make me see the frog very vividly. Have a nice day, Thomas and regards to Tweetie, kind regards Mitza
Thank you, Mitza! š I’ll try to have a nice day even though we, later on, have to go in to have our taxes done. I love paperwork and such as much as i love cleaning toilets… it’s all a lot of crap! (I’ll tell Tweetie!) š
:))
Sweet poem!
Thanks, Belinda! š Your recent heron photos were top-notch! š
