We all cling to something
You cling to part of an old white birch tree
Some of us cling to corrupt politicians who promise sunny heaven
while connivingly making shady deals under the table
I’d rather cling to a simple old white birch
and then soar joyfully through the vast wondrous sky
rather than grasp onto what driveling babbling politicians say
I’d rather fly free into that wordless timeless immensity

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped.
I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy.

Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...
…..and I’d like to join you!
Awesome, M! 🙂
Excellent poem and video!
Thanks much, Belinda! 🙂
I’d rather fly there too! Nice poem, and beautiful video; it looks very windy! 🙂
Good! 🙂 Thanks very much, Sci! It’s very windy here every day anymore! Makes photographing insects and little things all that more difficult!
Ah I see. We tend to get major gales with rain storms, otherwise it’s not too bad.
I would also like to join… 🙂
Excellent! We could all fly away from all the nonsense! 🙂
in simple brain of monkey there no doubt bird have superiorness to politician. except maybe vulture carrion bird have equality with politician creature.
I saw turkey vultures soaring above our yard yesterday. They were so majestic, beautiful (in flight) and free… far more admirable than any scavenging politician! 🙂
I’ll join you in that sentiment!😊
Excellent, Mary! We’re building up quite a flock of free-fliers here! 🙂
Truly beautiful, Tom! I’d like to join you, too. 🙂
Great, Amy! More and more members in our flight group is awesome! 🙂
Your post is always inspiring, Tom! 🙂
Wow! Thank you, Amy! 🙂
I had the most beautiful photo session with an owl recently. I too thought, how majestic it must feel to fly so fearlessly, freely.
Your words have hit a writing frenzy cord…well done!
So glad, bits! 🙂
Fantastic post, I feel exactly like you. The little bird is so cute. Regards Mitza
Thanks much, Mitza! 🙂 They are common birds in our area, but each one is so beautiful and unique to me!
It’s really good that there are people like you that are interested in nature and find beauty even in small things:
To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour. Have a nice weekend, and greets to Tweetie, Mitza
Yes!… Eternity in an hour! 🙂
A lovely little bird. I’m with you on politicians (although I believe there are a few — a very few — good ones out there).
Yes, Bernie Sanders is one, we think. He is so dedicated to the environment and to making things fair and just. Doesn’t look too promising, right now, however, for the nomination.
No, but he did stir things up!
I hope he stays in the picture. 🙂 He is one of the few decent ones!
Wonderful poem (enjoyed every word) and video!
I am very grateful for your appreciation of the poem and video! Thanks C.I.!
Me too Tom.
I think the secret is that birds don’t listen to the media.
I’m taking a lesson from them right now 💛
So good, Val! Sometimes a single, little bird can teach us more than a long lecture by some so-called expert! 🙂
Buddha Tom, I too, share your sentiments, and they are penned so eloquently that you take us there, thus your name… hmm.. I wonder if I should say Nature Buddha Tom, or does the term Buddha include that? I would think that it would, so Budhha Tim is sufficient, then. 🙂
Fab gif, lots of fun.
Buddha Tim?! It’s the iSlave acting up again, oh well, gone are the days when a computer doesn’t change what one writes.
Thanks very much, Genie! 🙂 You don’t have to call me Buddha anything. Tom is quite good enough. If people associated me with the Buddha they might think that i follow an 8th fold path. I don’t follow any path. I don’t practice anything.

may they get
your sentiment 🙂
One hopes so! (But it isn’t mine… in terms of possession.) 🙂
I can’t keep away Tom, I tried! Fantastic words with that free bird on the old birch tree. That’s my name in Latin! And I adore birds…So I’ll be in that flock or following you all from a distance as I love my freedom.Thank you from the bottom of my heart presenting us a wonderful image even though only in our minds…
Nice poem. Every one wants to fly away from corrupt babbling politicians.
Such a beautiful post! Found my way here through your comment on another blog.. I’m very glad I decided to click on your link 🙂
Looking forward to many more beautiful posts! Cheers 🙂
