We can, with our limited minds, speak and write about the ineffable sacred, but whatever we say or write is inevitably inadequate and fragmentary. That sacredness, that immensity, is beyond the cause/effect parameters of this universe. A visitation by it cannot occur to a mind that is heavily conditioned. A mind that is riddled with fears, beliefs, hatred, indifference, disorder, and antiquated patterns cannot be visited by it.
Being beyond cause/effect, it is beyond time. It is an ineffable timelessness that has no beginning and no end. The sacred is not a product of human thought/thinking; so this excludes temples, mosques, churches, cathedrals, beliefs, and man-made rituals. The mind must be free of authority, leaders, and indoctrinating ways for it to occur in consciousness. When the mind is empty of chattering images, conditioned conflict, fragmentation, and symbolic thoughts, then (perhaps) it may manifest.
My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped.
I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy.

What a beautiful butterfly Tom and it’s so close-up you can see the powder on its wings. I like the idea of it reclining on a Hosta. The first time I saw this type of butterfly, I was looking it up to find the name … I was searching under a category of “blue butterflies” but never in a million years could I come up with “Purple Spotted” for a name.
Red Spotted Purple…. is a strange name; there’s not much red, and it is blue more than Purple. Maybe that’s what happens when color-blind people choose the names.
I just got some Blue Death Feigning Beetles as pets. Edie likes them too. My, they are so cool! They remind me of miniature dogs! They are so comical, with their crazy antics. When touched, many of them flop over and play dead. They live up to 10 years and are super easy to take care of.
Tom, it never made sense to me how they came up with that name but I do know I spent a long time trying to find its name based on my ID of it.
I just Googled around and found a site called “Clint’s Reptiles” and got to see your new pets up close. Interesting the antics that they have isn’t it? He said they are actually black, but the waxy coating they have to protect them makes them look blue.
The seller of the Blue Death Feigning Beetles also gave me some extra Rough Death Feigning Beetles, because I bought a lot of beetles, half of which I gave to my step-grandson. Those Rough DFBs are totally black and they are actually a bit larger than the Blues. I like them a lot too. They paw through the sand like little dogs; it is really awesome to see!
That was nice of the seller to do this for you Tom. On the site where I looked to see what the Blue Death Feigning Beetles looked like, the person making the video showed them in an uncovered dish with what looked like pea gravel or smaller gravel. They can’t climb up the sides of the dish and escape? Or perhaps he took the lid off to make the video?
The Blueberry Beetles can’t climb up glass, so no lid is necessary. That was only a temporary display container that he (Clint) had them in. Mine are in a tank with sand and decorative things — like branches — for them to climb on. I have a screen top, but that is only to help hold a heat lamp. They need low humidity, and the lamp drives out the humidity.
I see; I guess they would slide back down the shiny surface. That’s what I wondered as to Clint’s display container, that they may have escaped. That’s right – the humidity is bad for their protective shells and makes them turn black. Well, you have your latest pets happy and cozy with the fish and parrots and they’re already acclimated by now.
