My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped.
I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy.

Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...
I could not agree more. Well said.
Thank you, Lou. Keep your amazing poetry flowing! 😊
Great insights.
I like the close up photo, too.
Much appreciated from you, Nesfelicio. 😊
Wisdom is a beautiful lady! Awesome work always my brother! ❤️
Thanks so much, my friend! 😊
You’re very welcome Tom! #GoodWorks
May we always be compassionate for those less fortunate than ourselves. Hopefully we are wise enough to know those who are deserving of such compassion. “Sky Blue” is a wonderful close-up photo and very Summery too Tom. Don’t hold your breath for beautiful weather, but worth mentioning is that Spring is one month from today; Summer is four months from today.

Oh, i am so ready for Spring. It will be so nice to see things growing and pulsating with life! 😊
Yes, compassion is very important in life. Those without compassion are not truly intelligent and not truly alive. When people start getting computer chip implants, they will become more robotic and less compassionate.
Me too Tom – this weather just gets to you after a while. We finally got to 32 degrees today and the sun was out. I am leery to take chances on the ice – if it’s nice on Sunday I’ll walk to the Park, not for me, but for my pals who did diligently bury peanuts like crazy but can’t retrieve them. I feel sometimes like people have lost compassion for everything – they think only of themselves and never of others. Social media has caused a lot of that in my opinion and computer chips implanted in the brain will be just as you say. It’s a crazy concept and does not belong in this world.
Always have pepper spray in easy access when walking in the park or nature walking. These days, there are more and more non-compassionate nuts out there. And they’re not the kind of nuts that squirrels are appreciative of.
Sadly that is true Tom. Whether you are walking or in your car these days you are not safe. I do carry pepper gel and a little shriek alarm as well. Truly, every time you walk out of the house you have to worry these days. Not a great time at all and I think to myself, I worked all these years and finally have the time to enjoy myself and must worry.
Fair, but I’m not completely convinced. I’ve observed Down syndrome children with little ‘traditional’ wisdom showing amazing compassion. There is something akin to ‘grace’ in their demeanor that is natural, similar to wisdom but more natural and cloaked; as if it flows more from the heart and not the mind, where it can erupt in spontaneous delight and compassion.
Well, before i retired, i was a teacher for the multiple handicapped and for those with mental handicaps. So i am very familiar with Down syndrome. Many Down syndrome individuals do indeed have an intrinsic joy and kindness as a big part of their personality. It is so very sweet and heartfelt! 😊 Wisdom need not just emenate from the brain. It is often what flowers from the heart or from the individual as a whole. Wisdom and intelligent kindness is not just restricted to the human species. Many so-called normal people often think too much, and act rather robotically and unalive, rather than acting with true joy and compassion.
Beautifully expressed, Tom. Wisdom and compassion are indeed intertwined—one enriching the other. True understanding flourishes when we move beyond rigid boundaries and embrace a deeper, more connected way of seeing the world. Thank you for sharing this insight!
Thank you, Michael! Glad you see it and feel it so deeply. That is wonderful! 😊
Love this insight Tom: “Real intelligence may be operating when the mind exists beyond isolating boundaries, barriers, and circumscribed concepts.” 😊👏🏼🤗 Yes!
So glad that you agree, Kym! 😊 I wish our politicians would see it similarly… but that is sure not happening. It’s not even close!
Wow amazing and beautiful capture Tom!
Thank you, Marcela. Keep on snappin’! 😊
100% Couldn’t agree with your thoughts more! What a lovely bug!
