Thought/thinking is very limited. Thought is very cubicle-like. A cubicle is a small, partitioned space. The ego is a small, partitioned space. When intelligence sees the limitation of thought/thinking, then (without time and technique) thought/thinking dissipates when it is not needed. Deep perception is what exists beyond the confines of thought/thinking. Deep perception is beyond futile techniques, concocted forms, images, and symbols. Such perception is light. It is not a separate “you” seeing the light. It is light.
Time depends on (and is) limited sequences of space. Transcending limited space involves the timeless. Interestingly, deep compassion crashes through the ego’s barriers involving its limited space. Compassion transcends limited space and (thus) involves the timeless. Profound intelligence is (and involves) compassion.
Red-Banded Leaf Hopper … Photo c.2024 Thomas Peace
My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped.
I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy.

Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...
Yes, Harini! π It occurs when the wall between the so-called self and others is absent. Great intelligence and that compassion are not two separate things.
Not sure I agree here Tom about profound intelligence is compassion – Compassion is a heart pouring pure feeling, at least from my point of view! What a bug!!!! So cheerfully attired
Thank you, Sara, about the cute leafhopper! π I never said that feeling is not part of immense intelligence. An entity with little or no compassion is composed of limited intelligence. (Take, for instance, crass voters who disregard the environment but, instead, focus on $).
Yikes, pardon me I mis interpreted what you said! Are you as exhausted as I am over what has happened? I spiral from one range of emotion to the other – rage to grief -to acceptance of what is and back again .Ugh
I was very saddened. especially with the climate denial stuff and with regard to not standing up to aggressive, sinister dictatorships, etc., etc. I did plenty, both financially (spending nearly $500, and with online comment writing, so i can sleep understanding that i did my best. Now it’s out of our capability to change much (in that regard) so i am at peace and am not at all letting it eat away at me. Never let superficiality dominate your inner order and sweet joy.
I knew this was going to happen so I spent this year soaked in dread – but continued advocacy for nature through my published writings – it was lonely though – except for my Vet no one wanted to hear why I felt the way I did… so kept mouth shut – now it’s just a question of moving through the grief and accepting what is – Earth is under fire – Americans won’t give up until they have to – but I am turned towards acceptance – I will not enter the fray. I have spent most of life fighting for Life as we know it on this beloved planet…I’m sick of fighting for anything – and I don’t the US to offer a shred of truth…
Compassion is certainly not limited, that’s for sure. Oh and by the way, I don’t think I have ever seen a Red-Banded Leaf Hopper like this one. It dons a beautiful color palette! π¦πππΈπ
Yes, Kym, compassion may be part of a vast Universal intelligence (that is neither just yours or mine). Thanks about the Red-Banded leaf hopper, Kym. They are very small… and they are very elusive and perceptive. When they see you approaching, they quickly move to the opposite side of the stem or leaf, such that you can’t see them. π
I have compassion for all living things, sadly more often our nature friends than our human friends these days. Having witnessed the medical issues of my mother, I have more compassion than many people have and that would be those people lucky enough to have never been ill or been around/cared for an ill person. I have compassion about what will happen to us down the road as a new regime will no longer care for the welfare of Planet Earth or her beings, be they human or non-humans. Our/their fate may be on shaky ground.
I probably should not have said that being an alien and all, but what looks like an alien is this cute little Red-Banded Leaf Hopper who is all “duded-up” in his/her colorful markings.
Linda, you are no more an alien in the so-called U.S. than any of us non-Native American people are. What’s going to happen with regard to the upcoming administration and its denial of manmade climate change is going to add to life’s cruxifiction. But we must keep our integrity and happiness and not let the darkness of others influence our light. Life is resilient, and it will bounce back after humans have destroyed their world.
Those Leaf hoppers are an elusive bunch. They know how to duck out of sight when humans approach their area.
We have to keep the faith Tom – sometimes it is all we have. I hope that everything is more resilient than we assume – that is good, especially as to wildlife. May they not go the way of the butterflies and bees as those insects try valiantly to rally back. No wonder those Leaf Hoppers duck out of sight … they are so colorful that it is easy to spot them. Of course they are not as colorful to the naked eye as they are with your macro camera lens.
P.S. – I hope our new way of dealing with wildlife who get in our way will not always be this method. I know the Canada Geese are messy, loud and we have a lot of them. But surely there is a more humane way to deal with them … i.e., if you can round them up to end their lives this way, then round them up, drive them far away where they won’t bother anyone and leave them there.
Good grief, gassing these beautiful creatures of nature is so unbelievably cruel and inhumane. Of course they can hold their breath and must suffer a long time before they expire via gassing.
The avian flu scares me because of my two pet parrots. I would be devastated if something happened to them. They are like my kids. I keep them indoors and exercise them indoors… so that helps immensely. What scares me is that some people and other mammals are beginning to get it and carry it.
Yes, compassion where the self is not present is wonderful! And that is such a beautiful animal.

Thank you, M.T.! The greatest art is the art of living. π

Thanks for the video, Linda! π
