Let’s dive deep
into shadowless realms of unsleep
far from the web of callous indifference
Let’s be whole
no fragmented pieces taking the toll
and streets driving as congested arteries
Let’s tread ages
leaving these words still on the pages
as a bored television tries to turn itself on
Let’s take time
as stolen money runs from the crime
while handcuffs are frowning with remorse
Let’s look down
while a missing wallet looks to be found
and credit cards fret with anxiety
Let’s be joy
while the white crib rattles her toy
as a happy nest with gray friends is singing

simply wonderful.
Means a lot coming from a poet like you, Lou! 😊
Perception meeting reality…what a powerful contemplation Tom! 👓😎🕶
Thanks much, Kym! 😉 As you well know, poetry can contain powerful secrets.
Love this, Tom.
Much appreciated, Sandy! 😊
My pleasure.
Beautiful!
Thank you very much, Imelda! 😊
Very cool Tom! #GoodWorks
Thank you, MobsterTiger! Take care. 😉
Gorgeous goldfinch, Tom! Also liked the last stanza of your poem.
Thank you, Siobhan! Yes, the last stanza fit in well with the photo. 😉
Let’s! Excellent poem and message, thank you Tom.
Very glad that you saw something in the message of the poem, Michele! 😊
I like this poem and the picture Tom – some joy to be found in the last paragraph and how delightful to see the vibrant male Goldfinch with his silent peers. What a great capture – is this in your garden?
Thanks, Linda! 😊 Yes, it’s in my garden by the river that i live on. The male goldfinches are very magnificent to see! Oftentimes, it’s just amazing how nature comes up with such amazing colors and beautiful patterns! (It’s really not my garden… it’s the birds’ and squirrels’ garden.)
It’s very beautiful and intriguing with the stone birds Tom. Yes, they are beautiful and I hear Goldfinches singing in the Park – they remind me of my male canaries who are gone now, but had the same melodic voices. The birds and squirrels can enjoy themselves and you can enjoy yourself watching them – it sounds perfect to me Tom!
