Fundamentally Erroneous

31 comments

To be fundamentally wrong is one thing. But to be fundamentally erroneous with regard to the basic framework or essence of one’s whole psyche is extraordinarily significant. From the day that you were born, they coddled you with warm words that supported the imagery of a center… a central dominating “controller” that is at the core of consciousness dominating and running everything. However, as we’ve mentioned in past blogs, scientists have split the brain (via splitting the corpus callosum) and have created two separate fields of consciousness. The center is fictitious (yet everyone believes in it).

The repetitive operation of a fictitious center — that is not really central at all — creates much mischief; it is separative, illusory, fragmentary, and power-oriented; it depends upon separative borders; it creates a circumference around itself. It, additionally, is a waste of time and energy. Little wonder why there is so much human havoc in the world. We operate with distorted (mental) equipment. Most humans are “off the beam.” Look at the world around you. Look at the narcissistic, sociopathic leaders in America and the world.

How can stability and harmony deeply exist if the essence of consciousness is based on a false premise? We say things like, “I’m working at improving my memory.” You are your memory… and there is no you separate from memory (using it from a distance). Then we surmise that without a center, we will not be secure in eternity. On the contrary, it is the very clinging to a dominating, illusory center that negates the full and comprehensive understanding of beautiful eternity. Distortion cannot perceive the fundamental nature of eternity clearly.

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped. I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy. • It’s only unsettling because you do not fully understand it. When very deep understanding takes place, then there is bliss and harmony beyond measure (which is not unsettling in the least). πŸ™‚ Too many of us are uncomfortable with deep change and we cling to the same-old-stuff (which equals remaining in darkness).

  2. I am so enlightened Tom. This is what i love about you, you always made me discover things/thoughts/notions/ideas (however that is called) that i havent really thought of. And yes, you are right humans have functioned based on a mentally distorted brain and look what most of us have become…

    Thank you always for bringing a light on topics most people are afraid to talk about.

  3. At the risk of being superficial – that is a fantastic phot. I love the brilliance of its colors. As for the rest, it’s a bit too deep for me atm. Had a helluva day and my brain just said, “Nope, can’t go there”. But it sounds interesting.

  4. You nail the center as controller – what will it take for us to get it – that this ego -centered controller often has no one’s best interests at heart….
    Thanks Tom

  6. Your comment above about fearing the depths reminded me of a favorite quotation of mine — favorite enough that I have it on my About page. It’s from the Cuban poet and statesman, Jose Marti: “A genuine man goes to the roots. To be a radical is no more than that: to go to the roots. He who does not see things in their depth should not call himself a radical.”

    As for your words about the center, I’m remembering the famous lines by Yeats:

    “Turning and turning in the widening gyre
    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
    The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.”

    • Yes, going to the roots is essential. Otherwise, one is just skimming along on the superficial surface. The vast majority of people do not give a hoot about going to the roots. They are content with one little branch — one little, fragmentary section — and couldn’t care less about the whole tree in its entirety.
      Thanks, Linda. πŸ™‚
