Yes, they are giant millipedes found in SA. I can’t find any info on google for you, but here is a short YouTube clip of what I call a Zongollola. I hope it plays for you.

I’ve only seen one of these in my life. I rolled over a dead and rotting log, and there he was — big, too! I “yeeeeeeeeked” and the rolled his log back in place, very carefully.
I used to have Madagascan Orange Legged Millipedes as pets; they were each a foot long. Tingly, funny feelings as they moved across your arm! 🙂

The one in the picture is just a very small wild one that got into the garage from outside. I don’t have any of the Orange Legged pet ones any longer (and my wife is so glad)! 🙂
