What makes a King out of a slave?
Courage! What makes the flag on the mast to wave?
Courage! What makes the elephant charge his tusk, in the misty mist or the dusky dusk?
What makes the muskrat guard his musk?
Courage! What makes the sphinx the seventh wonder?
Courage! What makes the dawn come up like thunder?
Courage! What makes the Hottentot so hot? What puts the “ape” in apricot?
What have they got that I ain’t got?
(All Four):
Courage!
(Lion):
Then you can say that again! — Words from the timeless (and indubitably immortal) Wizard of Oz
How old am I? Old enough that the first thing that came to mind was the thought, “That’s Sam!” It was over forty years ago that courageous muskrat Sam met Susie!
That played that song for President Carter. Lol.
Ah… i too remember it well! 🙂
(Age is a curious illusion, supported by old farts!)
Tom, do you live on a nature preserve? You photograph some amazing creatures! I guess you call that…photographic COURAGE??? 🙂
Well, it’s hardly tigers and lions that i’m photographing. However, with all the Lyme’s Disease wood ticks and crass hunters in the woods, maybe i should get some kind of metal! 🙂
Truly! LOL 😀
Thanks for my morning smile and a beautiful picture!
It still puts a smile on my face too, Susan! Thank you much! 🙂
🎶 If I only had a brain 🎶
Ain’t dat da truth for all of us! 🙂
Scarecrow:
I haven’t got a brain… only straw.
Dorothy:
How can you talk if you haven’t got a brain?
Scarecrow:
I don’t know… But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking… don’t they?
Dorothy:
Yes, I guess you’re right.
Thanks for bringing back fond memories of the Cowardly Lion.
Many thanks, SB, and read what i wrote to Jim. 🙂
I’ve never seen a muskrat, great photo.
… and i haven’t delivered that broomstick to the Great and Powerful Wizard yet! 🙂
Lol I’m sure he’ll be peeking out of that curtain looking for it!
Great fun!
Watch out when you in the woods photographing, Belinda; there are flying monkeys and evil witches about!
🙂
Good read, energizing image … on task! Commitment along with courage perhaps?
It did take great courage from me to steal my mother-in-law’s broomstick; now i have to deliver it to the Great and Powerful Wizard! 🙂
Great capture, Tom! I’ve got muskrats on the brain (next post hee hee).
Great!
Now, please excuse me while i deliver my mother-in-law’s broomstick to the Great and Powerful Wizard! 🙂
There was a muskrat at Council Point Park today … someone pointed him out to me but all I could see was the water streaming behind its tail … I do see them from time to time down there.
My very favorite movie of all time!! And my favorite scene! 🙂
It’s my favorite too! Lots of very special scenes and precious moments in that priceless film! 🙂
Courage! It’s easier when your friends stand with you. Great movie. Great scene. Cute little muskrat, too.
