In the pursuit of color
levelheaded snapshots happened twice
at the heartflower of everything
feathered sirens sang their song
Simply sweet as nature’s grace
they nurture beauty and joy
far from apathy and indifference
implicit order moves along
Not overwrought with stilted lies
but beyond the obtuse pool
lone in the plush prairie preludes
pristine charm transcends war
Here as there is nowhere
beyond cold space’s creed
just as now always was
the flower’s passage widens perceive

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped.
I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy.

Lovely 🙂
Thank you, Scifi! 🙂 Gabbie scratched her eye; she is now wearing a cone and is getting antibiotic ointment. She is getting used to it, but i feel for her.
Oh dear, the dreaded Cone of Shame! I hope Gabbie’s eye heals quickly. 🙂
Really wonderful words and poem, Thomas, regards Mitza
Thank you, Mitza! 🙂 It applies to all of us who take pictures of colorful beauty away from it all!
Stunning shots! The colours sure beat the drab grays around here the past 2 weeks
Thank you, L5! Ah, but the fall colors can be magical in their own way!
Beautiful colours! Here everything seems to have turned to grey.
Thanks much, Karen! 🙂 It’s a gray fall here too, but i take so many pictures during spring and summer that i often continue to post them into fall and winter. I especially like bugs, flowers, and little creatures… and there are not very many in the colder seasons.
Love the notion of ‘heartflower’, Tom. Gorgeous post.
Thank you, Jean! 🙂 Yes, me too… (h.f. = blossoming love)!

Thank you, David. The reign of the ants may come soon.
“Simply sweet as nature’s grace…” so true! And the second photo looks like a painting, gives that feel of timelessness. Very nice combination, photos and verse, the title is wonderful.
Many thanks, Nicole! 🙂 It partly pertains to all of us who are nature photographers (and the beauty that we are privileged to see).
