Let’s give a prize…
to those who were too crass and uncaring
to ever open their eyes.
Let’s provide a splendid, gold citation…
to those who radiated endless cruelty,
increased suffering, and needlessly caused frustration.
Let’s mindlessly vote for an unhinged, sick sociopath with an unstable mind that divides us…
who snarls that the polluted, unhealthy environment is balanced,
and that all of the dying coral reefs are quite healthy and marvelous.
Let’s cheapen the whole…
be ordinary, separative, comfortable, selfish,
and take a long, indifferent stroll.
Let’s thoughtlessly add more and more pollutants and superficial experiences to the fire…
and when this tiny world burns to the ground,
Let’s wait until the very last day to deeply inquire.

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped.
I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy.

Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...
The division in our country is disturbing, but not half as horrifying as those who have not opened their eyes. Have we become so self-absorbed and caught up in greed, that we do not see the path of destruction we’ve left behind? Your words summed the current situation very well, my friend. I am just not sure our not-so-evolved population will “get it”. They’re caught up in superficial distractions.
Exactly, Lori! The current political situation is a sad reflection of the crass superficiality that is out there in massive numbers. Will they, as you say, “get it”? For most of them, unfortunately: of course not! You might as well expect turtles to fly!
I hope that your fellow men will understand and hear your permanent warnings which are meant in a good way, because I feel your concern about the earth, Thomas. May your efforts be crowned with success. Regards Mitza
Thanks so very much, Mitza, but i’m not holding my breath! You can’t get blood out of a turnip! 🙂
# 1 monkey love spider video because monkey think spider = amazing creature. # 2 monkey think message of thomas = hitting nail on head. when monkey think of huge number of sheeple what follow tangerine colored demagogue into darkness of amoral & irrational abyss monkey have more shudder than ever spider could produce in simple nervous system of monkey.
Spiders are beautiful and magnificent in their own way! 🙂
Yes, this is all a sad reflection on the gross hatred, division, and superficiality that is ingrained in much of the U.S. Compassion, care for the environment, and respect for others has gone out the window… because superficiality trumps reason, goodness, respect, and compassion (when the masses are involved).
Perfect October capture!
Thank you, Karen! 🙂
Wow Tom, this is the neatest post I have ever seen. Spiders are good critters – they are good for the environment. Love that Frog, it is so real.
Thanks much, Peggy! 🙂 Check out all of the postings!
Will be by to visit your blog. You have some great posts.
Re 2 legs, most definitely. In another format I have basically said the same thing in reply to another of your posts. Its as the song goes, “When will we ever learn, when will we ever l e a r n”
Lyrics
Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the flowers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the flowers gone?
Young girls have picked them, every one
Oh when will they ever learn, oh when will they ever learn?
Where have all the young girls gone, long time passing?
Where have all the young girls gone, long time ago?
Where have all the young girls gone?
Gone for husbands, every one
Oh when will they ever learn, oh when will they ever learn?
Where have all the husbands gone, long time passing?
Where have all the husbands gone, long time ago?
Where have all the husbands gone?
Gone for soldiers, every one
Oh when will they ever learn, oh when will they ever learn?
Where have all the soldiers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the soldiers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Gone to graveyards, every one
Oh when will they ever learn, when will they ever learn?
Where have all the graveyards gone, long time passing?
Where have all the graveyards gone, long time ago?
Where have all the graveyards gone?
Gone to flowers, every one
Oh when will they ever learn, oh when will they ever learn?

Yes… “When will they ever learn?”… the way things look, probably never.
