Here is where the matter ends
beyond the tick of space and the edge of time
it’s a nowhere that can’t be bought
in a depth further than the superficial can find
True life is where the past is gone
a placeless place beyond thought’s deprivation
it’s an everywhere that is priceless
in a union beyond a learned separative station

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped.
I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy.

Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...
Simply stunning Tom! I couldn’t comment on wonderful “Squirrel Story” yesterday. I was not allowed to. I enjoyed it immensely, and it was great fun ๐ Happy Friday!
Thank you, Beth! Happy Friday! ๐
Nice poem…and photo, as always!
Very much appreciated, Mary! Hoping your weekend is enchanting! ๐
Lovely thoughtful poem, and great shot ๐
Thanks much, Sci! Of course the photo is from when the weather was warmer, last year. It remains crazy cold here, with some snow; you are lucky where you live! (We managed to trim our dog Gabby’s nails without too many problems, by the way.) ๐
We are lucky in that the weather is not too extreme, but it has been way too hot this summer and parts of SA have severe droughts; cattle and crops suffer and food prices are set to rocket. So, your snow is looking pretty good to me right now! ๐
If I ever got a puppy I would make sure to handle its paws so I could cut its claws, like you can with your little Gabby. ๐
True life is where the past is gone… Love it! The photo is remarkable. Thank you for sharing, Tom! ๐
Thanks so much, Amy! ๐ Too many people live in (and “as”) the dead past, with all of its stale symbols, patterns, and abstractions.
That is real powerful poetry. And the images are wonderful!
Thank you very much, Sukanya! ๐
I like that… “tick of space”. Lovely poetry, Tom.
Very appreciative of that, Lori! ๐ After what happened to my cousin (with that other kind of tick) last year with Lyme’s Disease, i am going to take extra precaution while going outdoors in the sticks.
wonderful poem and photo, Thomas, have a nice weekend, regards Mitza
Thank you very much, Mitza! Hoping your weekend is full of magic (and not the kind with rabbits out of hats)! ๐
same procedure as every day, Thomas. Just cooking, ironing, biking etc. That’s not really magical. Hope yours is better. ๐
Cooking and biking can be very magical if you look at things other than in the ordinary way. (Not so sure about ironing!) ๐
Beautiful shot Tom..!
