Violet was a girl
with very few faults
she could sing and dance
and do somersaults
Violet was quite pretty
just as a flower
she loved to be in her garden
even during a shower
Violet blossomed in time
and loved to sun-bathe outdoors
she liked nature wild,
was never found in stores
All girls are Violets
in their own special way
they need never fear death,
while inevitably withering away

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped.
I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy.

Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...
That’s an amazing close up. What macro lens are you using?
I have a number of cameras. And I use lasers for making actual true color 3D holograms (but I can’t display those, of course, via 2D internet). I much prefer 3D over 2D. The one for this one was an Olympus Stylus with its own intrinsic macro capability.
So pretty 🙂
Thank you, Sci! And they’re all over our backyard in between the grass! They look good from a distance too.
Really wonderful and funny poem, Thomas. I just wonder, if Violet had a beard? hehe
No, Mitza, but she had to shave her legs a lot… (I mean roots)! 🙂
hehe, I’ll shave my roots later. 🙂
I totally like close ups, your picture is breathtaking, thanks for sharing.
Thank you much, Cecilia! 🙂
I love the vivid detail and wish violet all the best.
🙂
Love this pic and the prose! Thank you!
Lovely macro.
Beautiful post, both words and the photo. 🙂
