My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped.
I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy.

Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...
I really do like dragonflies and love to see them skip above water. Sometimes they have such wonderfully iridescent colours.
In your second photo it looks like ancient writing on his wings. A lovely effect 🙂
Thanks, Sci! They’ve been around a long time; they go back to before the time of the dinosaurs. 🙂
Absolutely stunning photo and I too like the effects of the second rendering. “answer to nobody, ” lucky species.
Thank you very much, Jude! I love dragonflies!
Yes, some folks may maintain that the rendering is a distortion from nature. But, to me, it is simply art. Man has been doing art regarding nature since the prehistoric cave wall drawings/paintings. Such art reveals our deep appreciation for what we are focusing the art upon! 🙂
Well said!
That’s a cracker, Thomas.
Dragonflies are difficult to capture. Great shot! I just noticed that I have lost your recent posts through my reader…
You take the best nature photos Tom!
