Open yourself to Spring

Let your mind blossom to unfold

Go beyond stale words and symbols

Look without that learned and stuffy past

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped. I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy. Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...

  1. Really lovely flower 🙂 Is it a lily? (shows botanic ignorance!)
And why is it that learning in the past, as a kid, was always so stuffy?
Good idea to look anew at everything 🙂

    • Yes, Sci, it is a lily growing on our river bank.
Learning can be fun and great joy! However, we all could benefit from often (for a time, each day) going beyond mere learning to a realm of deep silence and direct perception (without separation); only then can the mind be deeply connected with the whole (beyond fragmentation). 🙂

      • I bought some bulk lavender and sunflower seeds this year. This will be the first time we have ever planted lavender I hope it comes up. It is also suppose to be a good to keep mosquito’s away. I love watching the sunflowers grow they are amazing.
