Do not merely look through the screen of fragmentation that was instilled within (and “as”) your mind.

[This is not, as many might think, a Monarch Butterfly. It is a Viceroy Butterfly, resting at the base of an Oak Tree along some moss.  Unlike Monarchs, Viceroy Butterflies do not migrate south for the winter.  Viceroy Butterflies overwinter as caterpillars, resting inside rolled leaves.  Once the weather gets a bit colder, this Viceroy will likely perish; but its caterpillar offspring will survive the winter to emerge as new, splendid butterflies.]

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original mindfulness sayings and/or poetry that deals with mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped. I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy. Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...

    • Thank you! It’s wings are in very good shape for a Viceroy at the end of the season! Many have wings that hit flowers so often that they are badly damaged and frayed.
