My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped.
I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy.

Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...
you are completely right, Thomas. That’s why I put my son on a Waldorf school where they educate more crucial . Regards Mitza
Great, Mitza! Your son will be much better for it! There are decent alternative schools out there; and there is also home-schooling.
it’s sad but true, mostly,
but i posted about the mindfulness in education conference
where many educators offered their efforts of bringing empathy
and compassion into classrooms, giving me hope
that some kids and adults are getting the message 🙂
Super! I’ve supported that (via online petitions). It is sorely needed!
Personally, i feel that public schools have classes that are far too crowded. Teachers are – in a very real sense – parent substitutes (during the time in the classroom). What parent has 35 kids at once? Unfortunately, a lot of it has to do with economics and local taxes… and kids are the ones oftentimes being cheated. In Illinois, they are trying to severely cut teachers’ pensions. What kind of people will then want to go into the field of teaching in Illinois? People need to wake up! 😉
what a thought Thomas, teaching kids empathy! (we do have an ethics option for primary kids here)
That’s a great option (that shouldn’t be optional)! Much more needs to be done. Too many adults turn out to be too indifferent, too enclosed in their own little (limited) bubble! 😉
