Thought/thinking is the Absence of Energy/Wholeness

A mind that is constantly thinking functions in (and “as) a void, operating away from what energy and wholeness exist as. Thinking, being symbolic, fragmentary, and virtual, if overused, causes the individual to be secondhand and limited.

Deep insight generally doesn’t happen to a mind that exists in (and “as”) a rut of conditioning (including merely habitually using patterns of representation). Thinking usually involves clinging to representations and symbols, rather than dealing with actualities. A mind that often transcends its own endless chattering may be of real integrity and wholeness.

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped. I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy. I overthink everything Tom … right now I am sitting here on pins and needles with still another severe weather night, the second one this week .. a tornado warning for SW Michigan which I hope fizzles out before it lands here. Those are my thoughts and also my thoughts on the stinkbug’s spots … I never knew they had that many spots.

Pretty much all of us overthink everything, Linda. Millions of years of pressure has ingrained us in thinking most of the time. And it’s what the teachers had been conditioned to have us do.

I never seem to get stressed over storms and the weather. Premonitions occur for me, and I never had one happen regarding the weather… so I pay it no mind.

Yes, it’s difficult not to overthink everything. I knew someone once who never listened to the news, nor read the newspaper and I was amazed at that. I know I blurted out “but you need to know what is going on in the world!” She said “not really.”

I never was stressed about the weather until I saw the damage from the July,1980 Green Storm derecho. I have not been the same since. You are lucky Tom.
