Beyond Society’s “Time”…

We are all so entrapped in concepts of time that we have absorbed from our primitive society. Sure, you have to use time to make it to your doctor’s appointment appropriately (i.e., on time). But don’t foolishly let time cause you to, for instance, fear death.

Wisdom dwells in (or “as”) the present, but that present is not of time. Such dwelling is timeless, and it involves attention beyond the clutches of thought/thinking. Thinking, though often necessary, takes time; it is time-oriented; it is time. Sorrow stems from thought/thinking, and a timeless life exists beyond much sorrow. A mind that wisely psychologically dies to the clutches of thought/thinking may exist as a timelessness beyond sorrow. There is an immeasurable, spiritual timelessness that is wiser and deeper than, and untouched by, the limitations of the clock.

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped. I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy. Tom, time moves a lot faster these days as I am about to turn 70. I just commented on a post where the blogger said her mother always told her “don’t wish your life away!” My mother similarly told me that – well back in those days, I had many, many days to wish away – perhaps I should not have been so exuberant about it. 🙂 “Pinkly” are pretty – Allium I believe?

Thank you for the reminder Tom … I think the Winter’s harshness this year has made me seem like not only a recluse, but feeling older and less willing to brave the elements. It could just be everything going on in the world as well. I DID get out today finally – the car needed a run and some gas as it was on a half-tank and we have still another snowfall tonight, a wintry mix, then wintry mix and the Deep Freeze from the 8th ’til the 13th. I wanted to visit the squirrels and lavish some peanuts on them and the birds. Now I can sleep tonight. I will remember your words. The other birthdays did not bother me as they approached and I took it in stride – this one not so much.
