For eons — for millions of years — we looked in order to gain or acquire something. We looked primitively, through (and “as”) a screen of separation. For the most part, we did not look simply and holistically, beyond motives and desires. Desires often tend to make one limited; between a “you” and “what you want” exists a limited space (of deficiency). This limited deficiency involves a “perceiver” of limitation, and a limitation involving a space between what is and what is wanted.
Simple looking (without technique) may break free of the aforementioned limitation. Such “looking” need not involve separation, such as between the “perceiver” and the perceived. Observing without a motive and without separation may be a pristine awareness that transcends mere mechanical effort and striving. An isolated, limited ego cannot do it, unfortunately. Most people don’t care about this.
My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped.
I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy.
