My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped.
I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy.

Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...
You captured its beauty…
So glad that you perceive it! 🙂
Beautiful macro shot!
A weed is but an unloved flower. ~Ella Wheeler Wilcox
Thanks, Amy! Great quote! 🙂
Beautiful picture! I was just admiring our dandelions in suburban back yard, some still blooming some gone to seed, full lawn of dandelions, biggest eye sore of our neighbors, who are out there daily with their sprayers… 😦 And we have so many goldfinches coming to eat the dandelion seeds which they seem to enjoy.
Goldfinches are flying dandelions! 🙂
I love dandelions! Any flower that grows unaided is awesome 🙂
It’s funny about how many so passionately hate them (as they were programmed to)! Ironically, one day they’ll be (themselves) deceased, and dandelions will be growing right above them. 😉
Either that – or they will be pushing daisies! hehe 🙂
Ha! Good! 🙂 Karma payback for them!
from John Lennon:
Instant Karma’s gonna get you
Gonna knock you right on the head
You better get yourself together
Pretty soon you’re gonna be dead
What in the world you thinking of
Laughing in the face of love
What on earth you tryin’ to do
It’s up to you, yeah you
I had no idea… quite magical this close up! 😀
And LOVE the little blighters! (Which is probably why my neighbours don’t like my lawn… )
Thanks Running Elk! Cut grass is rather monotonous! 🙂
Gorgeous macro, Tom. To me, dandelions mean spring and warmth; they don’t deserve such animosity.
Thanks, Steven. Some of my neighbors are obsessed with killing each and every one! Their lawns (they think) are orderly… but their lives are not!
While I like a tidy lawn, I think there’s plenty of room for nature to do its thing. 🙂
I love dandelions.
