Staying local and happy…

.

One may not like this, but it is true:  Instead of taking vacations with polluting cars and planes, it is far wiser — and much more compassionate for nature’s sake — to stay local and not pollute.

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped. I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy. To follow my unique Blog of "Nature Photos and Mindfulness Sayings" and for RSS feeds to my new posts, please access at: tom8pie.com (On my regular Blog posting pages, for additional information and to follow, simply click on the "tack icon" at the upper right corner... or, on my profile page, you can click on the "Thomas Peace" icon.) Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...

  1. Makes sense – and with today’s economy, most people can’t afford to go away anyway.
I like the little insect and intricate patterns on his back 🙂

    • Thanks everyone! We can all do better, including myself. I fly two lined stunt kites as one of my hobbies… and I can see the difference in the winds over the years; they are getting more and more intense and violent. I follow a couple of blogs by environmentalists… and it’s a shame regarding how few “likes” they get. More people need to be concerned about the environment. Just a few days ago, a top environmental scientist on CNN said that we have only around a year or so to “get things right.”

      • We are very concerned about the environment in general in Germany and our family tries very hard to take care for the environment a lot, as much as possible. But in Greece for instance they always give plastic bags for free which leeds to a pollution in the environment etc. Sometimes it breaks my heart to see the beauty of my Greek island being polluted by old refrigerators etc. and plastic all over. Hope they wake up soonest possible. Regards Mitza
