Indifference and Psychological Space

In order for indifference to take place in (and “as”) the human mind, a psychological space must exist. If you are indifferent to the suffering of people or animals — people are a type of animal, by the way — then there must be a limited psychological space in you, separating the perceiver from that which is perceived. A false, learned “center” (as a psychological self) must exist for this limited space to exist.

Innocence exists when limited space is not prevalent. Then compassion flowers and care blossoms. Then there is a perceiving that is not separative and divisive. Innocence transcends war and conflict. Deep intelligence involves great innocence.
