They beat us to it.

Neil Armstrong didn’t realize that he had a spider hitching a ride on his spacesuit (and that it jumped off and was what actually took the first lunar step). 🙂

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped. I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy. Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...

  1. I certainly have changed over the years. A photo like this, in the past, would have made me go, “Ewwww….” Now, I just go, “Awwww….” Great photo of an equally fine creature.

  2. My what big eyes you have … oh look, two sets of eyes. But no long lashes. 🙂 I heard this morning on the news feature “On this date in history” that it was 60 years ago today that the TV show “Twilight Zone” debuted. I never watched any sci-fi shows and I guess this was about as adventurous as I got in that regard. I always remember the one “Twilight Zone” about the spider that grew to epic proportions. Perhaps that was where I learned my fear or spiders.

      • I enjoyed that show – I cancelled my cable in 2010 and had not watched TV for a while before that, just taped a few movies with the VCR, but they are still in a cabinet downstairs. I will look forward to your spider stories because they’ll be the real deal.
