Beyond the Learned Center

the hopping toad was the garden’s movement

toward that which wasn’t apart

from the symphonic moonlit night that was

crickets chirping as one beyond silence

while hands washed each other in blended sequence

a spacious window gazed out of itself

then one very shiny silver spoon quantified instant coffee

and the rhythmic ticking of the clock walked to the kitchen sink

right foot preceded left foot at measured intervals

as distance carefully calculated momentum

eyes moved from left to right repeatedly

wondering about the elemental purpose of this poem

My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped. I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy. 1. This is great! It reminds me of T.S. Eliot’s Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock 🙂 just shorter and sweeter

    • So awesome that you perceive that, Aenne! Very few people would see that and be perceptive of it! I am very familiar with Eliot’s Prufrock; it is even in the book I had written. Such poetry delves deeply into the profound intelligence beyond the crass separation between the “watcher” and the “watched”! Stay being perceptive! 🙂

“And the afternnoon, the evening, sleeps so peacefully!
      Smoothed by long fingers,
      Asleep… tired… or it malingers,
Stretched on the floor, here beside you and me.”

      • Only order it if you are very stable mentally. It is extremely powerful medicine and goes extremely deep. (It’s not meant for “mostpeople.”) It contains a lot of poetry by very famous poets; many of the best poets, I think — and there is real magic and mystery in that — were more into true wisdom and profound truths than were the famous philosophers throughout time. The title is “The Eternal Fountain of Youth” (by Thomas Peace); it can be purchased at Amazon.com or (though it costs a bit more there) at eternalfountainofyouth.com 🙂 (If you have an old brain, as so many do, you will reject its contents.) Let me know what you think (or don’t think) if you read it.
